About Skyway Connection Chorus

Skyway Connection Chorus is a group of female singers, who meet weekly to practice, perform, learn and have fun. We have singers of all ages and walks of life, travelling from as far away as Niagara, Kitchener and Mississauga. Our members range from experienced singers to those of us who are new to a cappella, but in the end we are all equally passionate about singing and performing.

 

Performance

The main purpose of Skyway Connection Chorus is to get out and sing for our community. We sing at our annual cabaret and a number of community events, in addition to our annual competition. We are available to perform at your next function. Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of acapella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. Throughout the year, we will invite specalists in the art of coaching barbershop to visit us, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade and increase our individual and group skills.


CompetitionIn May of every year, Skyway Connection Chorus participates in the Area 5 chorus competition. Competitions are a unique opportunity for quartets and choruses from our area to come together to sing for each other and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition. This competition is held in a new location each fall. 

Quartets

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. Skyway Connection Chorus currently is home to a wonderful quartet Nuance, and we are very proud of them! Click here to see our quartet section to learn more about them.
